Class Descriptions

B:1 Gentle/ Build Your Foundation

Newer to yoga? Need a refresher? Just simply looking for a feel-good experience that safely and effectively works within the principles and philosophies of heart centered yoga? Take it all at a slower and more gentle pace, life is tough enough off the mat! (Note: tranquil music accompanies some or all of this class.)

B:2 / Begin to Flow

Had some experience in yoga? Looking for some challenge but not a yoga workout? This class incorporates active breathing techniques and detailed alignment to support smooth and steady transitions between the poses. Basics of yoga asanas, philosophies and inner alignment of breath, posture, and movement supported. A perfect choice to surrender… and go with the flow. (Note: some teachers use music, while some keep the sound off to help you tune into your breathing.)

B:2-3 / Flow and Beyond

Wanting something between a b2 and a b3?  Need a little more time to explore setting up in a posture before moving into the next?  For every person that has been b3 curious, but filled with anxiety about arm balances and inversions, here you go.  A perfect class to get the support and guidance you want without second guessing yourself. (Note: this class uses louder music than other classes…and no, we don’t take requests!)

B:3 / Beyond and Deeper

Looking to find a rhythmically flowing class that’s dynamic from beginning to end and that takes you to your edge? Excited to work with deeper asanas while integrating ancient yogic philosophies, refined pranayama? Let’s go beyond limited holding patterns in your yoga practice and go to the deep end. (Note: this class uses louder music than other classes…and no, we don’t take requests!)

Vin to Yin Yoga

Need a little flow and a little nervous system detox?  The first 30 minutes of this class starts with warm ups, sun salutes, and vinyasa flow sequences to build heat. and move energy flow.  The next 30 minutes focusses on Yin practice, or minimal movements and passively held postures for greater periods of time to reveal and unlock deeply buried blockages.  The class concludes with deep relaxation, pranayama, and meditation.  (Note: music and silence liberally used in class.)

Yin Yoga

Gentle and practical yoga for all levels and traditions of practitioners.

1. Awaken inner steadiness and stillness holding the posture longer.

2. Understand the roots of sensation, align to inner wisdom, and release blocked energies.

3. Meditation with mental-emotional clarity and balances to the nervous system.

No impact with slow minimal transitions for maximum ease. All will experience the benefits of reducing bodily stress, dissolving mental tension, and increasing energy.

Want to go deeper in your asanas? This practice is designed to help you sit longer, and more comfortably, in meditation by stretching connective tissue around the joints. A passive practice, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and low to the ground poses typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia, or connective tissue. (Note: harmonic sounds used for a steady backdrop of sound.)

All Levels / A combination of levels B:1, B:2, B2/3, B:3 and B:Y

For all practitioners.

*all classes are 75 minutes long unless otherwise noted
