Basil Jones

Founder, Director & Master Yoga Teacher

Yoga teacher Basil Jones is the creator of Basil Yoga Center and Boutique in Ridgefield, CT. As a leader, mentor and celebrated teacher, Basil is known for his authentic, warm approach and intuitive teaching style, and bioenergetics hand on assists. With a deep empathy for all levels of human experience, his mission is to support people on the yogic path while pursuing their personal journeys and to reveal their unique potential.

Basil has been a practicing yogi for more than a quarter of a century.  He has studied with yoga masters: Swami Satchidananda, Sharon Gannon, David Life, David Swenson, Seane Corn and Dharma Mittra just to name a few.  In addition to yoga, Basil has trained for four years in the somatic approaches of Core Energetics and the Shalom Mountain Process.

In his two decades of teaching, Basil has opened three yoga studios and has developed yoga programs for fitness centers, Yoga Certification Schools, and the public education  systems in the tri-state area. His students are celebrities, artists, and the everyday folk that greet life with creativity, passion, and authenticity with a determination to explore the higher self. In addition to assisting his teacher and mentor Seane Corn, Basil leads teacher trainings and yoga retreats in Bali, St Lucia, and the Grand Caymans.

Basil enjoys French food, global travel with his husband Nico and pup Devi, and reading up on different philosophical views while listening all genres of music playing (on vinyl) in the background.

Alicia Gibson

Vinyasa and Yin Yoga Teacher

Alicia Gibson is a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher.   She offers a spirited and fun Vinyasa-style yoga class that is open to all levels and promises to strengthen body and mind.  She has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and draws from her many life experiences both on and off the mat to inspire and challenge her students.  By weaving in music, philosophy, and humor, she keeps her classes authentic and all embracing.
